Werner van der Westhuizen represents private fund sponsors, investors and joint venture participants in forming, investing in, and operating leading domestic and international private funds.

Mr. Van der Westhuizen regularly advises sponsors, from leading institutional asset managers to first-time or boutique fund managers, as well as institutional investors.

He helps sponsors with their formation, global fundraising, capital deployment, and operating activities for a range of private funds, including:

Before joining Latham, Mr. Van der Westhuizen was an associate in the investment management group in the New York office of another leading international law firm and an associate in the dispute resolution group of a leading pan-African law firm in Johannesburg, South Africa.
