Sylvia Zhang represents clients in novel and high-stakes antitrust litigation across industries. Drawing from her experiences in the government, Sylvia brings a strategic and solution-minded approach to all stages of a case, from the early stages of counseling and compliance through discovery, trial, and settlement.
Sylvia has substantial experience in litigation, including conducting depositions, negotiating requests, and preparing expert witnesses. She regularly helps clients navigate responses to third-party subpoenas and government requests.
Prior to joining Latham, Sylvia spent three years as an attorney at the FTC, where she worked on merger and conduct investigations and litigation within the technology sector. She was awarded the FTC's Stephen Nye Award for outstanding performance as a junior attorney.
Sylvia also served as a law clerk to Judge Andrew P. Gordon of the United States District Court for the District of Nevada and Chief Justice Mark V. Green of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. During law school, Sylvia was an intern at the California Attorney General’s Office, Antitrust Division, where she worked on litigation in the pharmaceutical sector.
Sylvia maintains an active pro bono practice assisting domestic violence victims seeking restraining orders and low-income seniors regarding trusts and estates issues. Sylvia serves as the firm’s Local Leader of the Asian and Middle Eastern Lawyers Group, Bay Area chapter.
