    Andrew Paik advises clients on complex antitrust matters relating to sensitive transactions that pose substantial risk of government intervention and challenge.

    Andrew draws on extensive antitrust experience spanning industries and jurisdictions to guide clients on:

    • Mergers and joint ventures, as well as transaction-related litigation
    • Sherman Act litigation
    • Government investigations by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC), including second request merger review
    • Class action litigation

    A recognized industry leader, Andrew served as vice chair of the American Bar Association Antitrust Section’s Spring Meeting Committee and is vice chair of the Transportation and Energy Industries (TEI) Committee. He is a former member of the firm’s Recruiting and Associates committees and previously served as the leader of the Asian Middle Eastern Lawyers Group in Washington, D.C.

    • American Airlines on multiple antitrust matters in front of the Department of Transportation and in federal court, including a class action lawsuit alleging illegal price-fixing with JetBlue through their Northeastern Alliance (terminated)
    • Desktop Metal on its:
      • All-cash acquisition by Nano Dimension
      • US$1.8 billion merger with Stratasys (terminated)
      • US$575 million acquisition of ExOne
    • Odyssey Investment Partners’ portfolio company, Protective Industrial Products, on its acquisition of Honeywell’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Business
    • Tapestry on its US$8.5 billion acquisition of Capri Holdings (terminated)
    • Energy Capital Partners and Calpine Corporation on the US$26.6 billion acquisition of Calpine by Constellation
    • Siemens Healthineers on its US$16.4 billion acquisition of Varian
    • Incitec Pivot on the US$1.675 billion sale of its Waggaman ammonia production facility to CF Industries Holdings
    • LENSAR on its acquisition by Alcon (terminated)
    • Chesapeake Energy on its merger with Southwestern Energy Company
    • Siemens on its US$10 billion acquisition of Altair Engineering
