- Assessing data privacy and cybersecurity risks and advising on applicable legal obligations
- Supporting clients in their product development, data-driven initiatives, and adoption of new technologies
- Drafting and updating internal and external policies, notices, and other compliance material
- Negotiating data privacy and security contract terms and data processing agreements
Robert also routinely advises on the privacy and cybersecurity aspects of the full spectrum of complex corporate transactions, including:
- Public and private company mergers and acquisitions
- Initial public offerings and other securities offerings
- Strategic data-driven commercial arrangements
- Bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including working with court-appointed Consumer Privacy Ombudsmen
Robert was among the first attorneys in Texas to be recognized as a Privacy Law Specialist, an accredited certification provided by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), and he often presents on privacy as a panelist or featured speaker at conferences and forums.
