Oscar Hayward is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Trial Practice.

Oscar advises public and private companies in various industries across merger control, competition litigation, and State aid.

His experience covers several industry sectors including technology (both hardware and software) transport (aviation, automotive, maritime), pharmaceutical, private equity, and agribusiness.

Prior to joining Latham, Oscar worked in the London office of a leading US firm.

  • Ericsson in relation to its proposed joint venture with all major European leading CSPs regarding its platform to aggregate APIs, with parallel reviews across the globe 
  • FIS on the merger control aspects of its US$13.5 billion acquisition of Global Payments’ Issuer Solutions business, and of its US$6.6 billion disposal of its stake in Worldpay 
  • Bridgepoint and CPP Investments in their sales of Dorna Sports to Liberty Media (EU Phase II) 
  • Microsoft in securing CMA Phase 1 unconditional merger clearance of its high-profile hiring of former employees of Inflection.ai and entry into related agreements 
  • Informatica, a provider of enterprise AI-powered cloud data management, on its US$8bn sale to Salesforce 
  • Anglo American on the US$3.7 billion sale of its Australian Steelmaking Coal Business 
  • Astorg Partners on the US$9.5 billion sale of its portfolio company Clario to Thermo Fisher Scientific  
  • KKR for its strategic partnership with Encavis, an independent power producer with solar parks and onshore wind farms
