Michael Hale is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department. Michael focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, including high-stakes business disputes and class action defense. Michael has represented clients in breach of contract, fraud, unfair competition, defamation, and environmental and regulatory matters. Michael’s clients include major players in the sports and entertainment industry, as well as technology and consumer products companies. Michael has experience in federal and state court, and in arbitration, drafting complaints, answers, motions, and other pleadings, managing discovery, and taking and defending depositions.

Michael received his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the Virginia Journal of International Law. Prior to attending law school, Michael received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Classics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his Master of Arts degree in History from the University of Virginia.
