Matthew Unsworth is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department.

Mr. Unsworth has a broad practice within Complex Commercial Litigation and White Collar Defense & Investigations. As well as representing companies in both litigation and enforcement proceedings, Mr Unsworth is experienced in providing transactional due diligence support and advising on compliance issues.

Prior to qualification, Mr. Unsworth spent two years training in Latham’s London office, gaining experience in the Corporate, Antitrust & Competition, and Finance Departments.

Mr. Unsworth maintains an active pro bono practice focused on advising individuals in the criminal justice system and assisting charities in understanding their legal obligations.

Mr. Unsworth’s experience includes:

  • Conducting an internal investigation for an online retail company following allegations made by a whistleblower
  • Advising a leading global investment bank on an investigation by the PRA regarding regulatory reporting failures
  • Representing a UK company in proceedings with the Financial Conduct Authority, following potential insider trading
