Luke Groom is an associate in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins.

Mr. Groom represents banks, financial institutions, private equity firms, and corporate borrowers in a variety of financing transactions, including in connection with leveraged buyouts, acquisition financing, recapitalizations, and refinancing across a range of industries. 

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Groom earned a JD and an MBA at Northwestern. While attending graduate school he also worked part-time at a large, publicly traded, bitcoin mining company. 

Prior to graduate school, Mr. Groom was a captain in the engineer branch of the US Army. In the army he worked on a hydroelectric dam, trained engineer officers, led thirty paratroopers as their platoon leader, earned his professional engineer license, won the Best Sapper Competition, and graduated Ranger School.
