Leo Stelz is an associate in Latham & Watkins’ Frankfurt office and a member of the Restructuring & Special Situations Practice.

Leo advises German and international creditors, investors, companies, management, shareholders, and insolvency administrators in connection with:

  • Financial restructurings (in-court and out-of-court)
  • Domestic and cross-border financing matters
  • Operational corporate restructurings
  • Acquisition of distressed companies, restructuring, rescue financing, or refinancing transactions

Leo studied law at the University of Frankfurt, focusing on law and finance. Moreover, he worked as a research assistant and legal clerk in Frankfurt with the corporate and project finance departments of two international corporate law firms.

During his legal clerkship with placements in Frankfurt, Berlin and Hamburg, he gained experience with his current practice group and the central department of the Federal Foreign Office. Most recently, he worked as research assistant in the restructuring and insolvency department of another international corporate law firm in Hamburg.
