Laura Szarmach is a counsel in the Washington office of Latham & Watkins. She is a member of the Tax Department and the Global Executive Compensation, Employment & Benefits Practice.

Laura Szarmach advises clients on executive compensation, employee benefits, and ERISA matters, with a particular focus on corporate transactions.

Ms. Szarmach also counsels clients on the design, taxation, and administration of executive compensation and benefits arrangements including:

  • Stock options and other equity incentive plans
  • Non-qualified deferred compensation plans
  • Employee stock purchase plans
  • Severance and change in control arrangements
  • Employment agreements

She also has substantial experience with respect to annual and periodic executive compensation disclosure obligations for public companies. 

Ms. Szarmach’s experience includes representing:

  • Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) in its acquisition of Saavi Energia from Actis
  • Workforce Logiq in its acquisition by PRO Unlimited
