Laura Bladow is a trial attorney who litigates complex commercial disputes, with a focus on defending corporate and individual clients in securities class actions.

 

Laura represents clients from a range of industries in high-stakes matters in state and federal courts, including:

  • Securities fraud class actions
  • De-SPAC litigation
  • Shareholder derivative litigation
  • Contract disputes
  • Intellectual property litigation
  • Other complex litigation

She maintains an active pro bono practice, including in partnership with Volunteer Legal Advocates.

Prior to joining Latham, Laura served as a law clerk to Judge Carolyn B. McHugh of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and Judge Rebecca Beach Smith of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

During law school, Laura was the editor-in-chief of the William & Mary Law Review

Laura’s recent experience includes representing:

  • 2U, a leading education technology company, in a securities class action alleging misleading statements in connection with financial projections
  • Riverstone Holdings and certain former directors and officers of Alta Mesa Resources, Inc. in a securities class action and opt-out suit alleging securities and state law violations arising from a de-SPAC
  • Investors in SportsMEDIA Technology Corporation in a Section 225 action through a trial in the Delaware Court of Chancery
  • BigBear.ai Holdings, Inc. and certain of its current and former officers in securities class action and derivative suit alleging securities law violations in connection with an accounting restatement
  • fuboTV and certain of its officers in securities class action and derivatives suits that alleged securities law violations
  • Nissan and certain of its former officers in a securities fraud class action in the middle District of Tennessee, arising from allegations that the automaker failed to disclose executive compensation for the Company’s former CEO and Chairman of the Board
  • Google, in a copyright and trademark infringement lawsuit and Digital Millennium Copyright Act defense case brought by educational publishers 
  • Shopify in a copyright infringement lawsuit and Digital Millennium Copyright Act defense case brought by educational publishers
