Clarence Cheong is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Data & Technology Transactions Practice and Privacy & Cyber Interdisciplinary Group.

Mr. Cheong advises clients across all market sectors on data protection, privacy, and security matters, particularly in relation to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK data protection regime.

Mr. Cheong has experience advising on an array of technology and commercial issues including:

Large scale technology and outsourcing transactions, and commercial contracts

Fintech and payments

Mr. Cheong trained in the firm’s London and Hong Kong offices, gaining experience in structured finance and acquisition finance in addition to data and technology.

A major European telecommunications provider on EU privacy compliance, particularly in relation to data security and global data transfers
A Middle-East investment fund on contracting with IT and telecoms providers in relation to a mega construction project
Crownpeak Holdings, a digital marketing platform provider, on its acquisition of the Attraqt Group
