Jason Wong is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Structured Finance & Securitization Practice.

Mr. Wong advises clients on securitization, receivables financing, asset-backed lending, and other structured finance transactions across a variety of asset classes.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Wong trained and qualified in the Sydney office of an international law firm. During this time, Mr. Wong completed a secondment at National Australia Bank, advising on securitization transactions.

Mr. Wong’s experience includes advising:

  • JPMorgan as the arranger and senior funder of the €200 million energy receivables securitization program established for Public Power Corporation
  • Fleet leasing business Custom Fleet as originator on the establishment of the A$1 billion multi-series master trust securitization, financed by Bank of America, JP Morgan, and Westpac Banking Corporation*
  • The senior lenders on the five Australian warehouse securitizations of GE credit cards, auto loans, and personal loans acquired by a consortium comprising of KKR, Värde Partners, and Deutsche Bank, including subsequent refinancings and extensions, which was awarded Debt Market Deal of the Year at the Australasian Law Awards 2016*
  • National Australia Bank on the establishment of the Low Carbon Shared Portfolio facility, which provide capital markets investors exposure to National Australia Bank’s renewable energy project loans using a funded participation structure*
  • Agribusiness lender StockCo as originator on the establishment of a securitization warehouse of livestock finance receivables*
  • BNY Mellon as bond trustee and paying agent in the Bank of Queensland conditional pass-through covered bond transaction, the first such debt issuance in Australia, and which was awarded Best International Bond at the FinanceAsia Achievement Awards 2017*
  • A number of different Australian fintech and alternative finance lenders as originators on the establishment of warehouse securitization structures*
  • Arrangers, dealers, joint lead managers, and trustees on various Australian RMBS, CMBS, and ABS public term securitization issuances*
