Ivan Alaev is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Finance Department. He primarily handles banking, corporate finance, and financial restructuring matters.

Mr. Alaev’s representative matters include advising:

  • The DTEK Group in connection with the restructuring of US$2.5 billion of bank and bond indebtedness
  • A major international bank in respect of a billion plus facility for one of the largest exporters of natural gas in the world
  • An international bank (as arranger) in connection with a €1 billion plus term loan facility for a sovereign borrower
  • The arranger in relation to the financing of the acquisition of shares in a precious metals mining company
  • The arrangers in connection with restructuring a syndicated facility provided to an electric and thermal energy company
  • A major Russian bank in relation to a prepayment facility for a Swiss trading company
  • The arranger in respect of the secured financing of the acquisition of shares in one of the leading developers in the Russian real estate market
  • Sistema Public Joint Stock Financial Corporation in respect of a joint acquisition of an equity interest in a leading pharmaceutical company
