Ivan Alaev is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Banking & Private Credit Practice.

Ivan represents sponsors, corporate borrowers, banks, and other financial institutions across a broad range of transactions, with a particular focus on leveraged and acquisition financings.

Ivan’s representative matters include advising:

  • Biffa, a leading UK-based industrial waste services company owned by Energy Capital Partners, in the debut issuance of £830 million-equivalent senior secured notes to refinance existing indebtedness and the concurrent establishment of a £300 million revolving credit facility
  • The lead arrangers on the financing of Apollo’s £2.7 billion acquisition of Evri, the UK’s largest parcel delivery business
  • Third Space, a portfolio company of KSL Capital Partners, in relation to its financing
  • Banks on the financing for Stonepeak’s acquisition of Castrol Oil from B
  • Carco on its financing for the acquisition of SKF’s non-core aerospace operation
  • The creditors committee in relation to the c. US$2 billion debt extension and financing arrangements of Flint Group, a global supplier to the printing and packaging sectors
  • The DTEK Group in connection with the restructuring of US$2.5 billion of bank and bond indebtedness
  • The arranger in connection with a €1 billion-plus term loan facility for a sovereign borrower
