Hamad represents sponsors, developers, commercial and investment banks, and investment funds on strategic transactions involving a range of assets, including:

Hamad leverages a sophisticated understanding of client needs to help borrowers and lenders strategically navigate commercial bank financings, private placements, and term loan B financings. He also guides sponsors and other stakeholders through the structuring, acquisition, development, and financing of energy infrastructure transactions.

  • NextDecade on the development and financing of the Rio Grande LNG project; named Americas Deal of the Year 2023 by Project Finance International
  • Delfin LNG on the ongoing development and financing of a proposed floating liquefaction and LNG export project
  • Pembina Pipeline Corporation on the project financing of the Cedar LNG project, a liquefied natural gas production and export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia; named Americas LNG Deal of the Year 2024 by Project Finance International
  • Alder Midstream, an operating affiliate of Glenfarne Group, on the ongoing project development and financing for Glenfarne Energy’s Texas LNG project  
  • Freeport LNG on each of its equity and debt financings and refinancings in respect to its three-train natural gas liquefaction and LNG export facility, with aggregate proceeds to date exceeding US$38 billion; named North America Refinancing Oil & Gas Deal of the Year 2014 by IJGlobal*

Midstream and Petrochemicals

  • ONEOK on a joint venture with MPLX to construct and operate a large-scale LPG export terminal facility and pipeline
  • The lead arrangers on the $574 million project financing of a world-scale hydrogen and nitrogen based ammonia plant in Texas City, Texas developed by Gulf Coast Ammonia and having a production capacity of approximately 1.3 million tons per annum*
  • Global Infrastructure Partners on its US$1.825 billion acquisition of Medallion Gathering & Processing, the owner of the largest, privately held crude oil transportation system in the Midland Basin of West Texas, and the related stapled debt financing and later refinancing provided by Jefferies*

  • Citigroup Global Markets on project financing in connection with the Marsh Landing, El Segundo, and Walnut Creek power projects
  • Cordelio Power on project financing in connection with the Moraine Sands wind project in Mason County, Illinois
  • MUFG Bank on project financing in connection with a portfolio of solar energy generation facilities in Falls County, Texas
  • Calpine Corporation in connection with the financing and refinancing of a number of its conventional power and geothermal projects, including the 2021 US$1.75 billion term loan A financing of Calpine’s Geysers geothermal portfolio in California*
  • GenOn in connection with financing a number of its power projects in the term loan A and term loan B markets including the Heritage portfolio financing, the Bowline financing, the Ormond Beach and Ellwood financing, and the Lanyard financing*
  • JERA on the term loan B refinancing of its Linden power project in NJ*

  • ING Capital on project financing in connection with the Freepoint project, a commercial-scale advanced plastics recycling facility
  • Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners on acquiring the Scatter Wash Energy Storage Project, a battery storage project in Arizona
