Grace Erskine is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Data & Technology Transactions Practice.

Grace advises clients across a range of sectors including private equity, financial services, social media, technology, and ecommerce in connection with:

  • Commercial contracts
  • Intellectual property licensing
  • The regulation of online platforms and intermediary services
  • Global data privacy matters
  • Diligence of private equity and venture capital transactions

Prior to qualification, she trained in the firm's London and Hong Kong offices. Grace has also completed a secondment with the in-house legal team of a leading international investment bank where she worked on a variety of commercial contracts, including software, intellectual property, and master services agreements for technology procurement.

Grace's experience includes:

  • Advising a website development company and social media company on the application of the EU’s Copyright Directive to their respective businesses
  • Advising a consortium, led by Astorg and Cinven, on their acquisition of LGC, a global leader in the life sciences tools sector, in respect of European data privacy and commercial contracts matters
  • Advising Silver Lake Partners in relation to European data privacy matters on its US$750 million investment in Jio Platforms, an Indian telecommunications company
  • Assisting financial institutions to collaborate with third party wealth management software solutions
  • Negotiating transitional services agreements for a variety of financial institutions and commercial entities
  • Negotiating a software licence development agreement for an Arabic-language multiplatform news service in the Middle East
  • Advising a leading consultancy firm on its global privacy impact assessment process to ensure compliance with privacy laws to minimize privacy and security risks
  • Advising a publicly listed China-headquartered technology and internet group on global data privacy compliance for cross-border streaming services and online games
  • Advising a digital telecommunications client in relation to compliance with data privacy laws including coordinating global privacy advice for an international roll-out of a cloud phone system
