Frances Yu is a corporate associate in the Hong Kong office of Latham & Watkins.

Ms. Yu advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and general corporate matters.

Prior to joining Latham, Ms. Yu worked as a trainee solicitor at another international law firm.  

Ms. Yu's experience includes advising:

  • ARA Asset Management Limited (ARA), the largest real assets manager in Asia Pacific, on a US$5.2 billion business combination of the ARA Group with ESR Cayman Limited to become APAC’s leading real asset manager and the third largest listed real estate investment manager globally
  • Warburg Pincus on the strategic merger of two of its existing portfolio companies, D&J China and New Ease China, two of the leading new economy infrastructure platforms in China, and its related equity financing
  • Primavera Capital as lead investor in the Series C financing round of LoveBonito Holdings Pte. Ltd,  a Southeast Asia’s omnichannel womenswear brand
  • Princeton Digital Group Limited on the US$360 million equity investment led by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, with Warburg Pincus, which has been the largest institutional investor of PDGL
  • A consortium comprising TPG, Singapore Life (SingLife), Sumitomo Life Insurance Company, and others on a transaction to combine SingLife with Aviva Singapore — which, with a combined valuation of SGD3.2 billion, marks one of the largest mergers in the insurance sector in Southeast Asia and the largest in Singapore
  • HLT Healthcare, a joint venture created by TPG Capital and Hong Leong, on the acquisition of Columbia Asia Healthcare, a Malaysia-based healthcare company that operates 17 hospitals and a clinic across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam
  • Warburg Pincus on its acquisition of minority stake in ARA Asset Management Holdings Pte. Limited  from AVICT Dragon Holdings Limited
  • Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited on the C$498 million acquisition of Hylife Investments Ltd.
