Fernando Ferreiro is a corporate associate in Latham & Watkins' Madrid office. Mr. Ferreiro has outstanding experience advising private equity funds, as well as financial institutions and real estate asset administration, and management entities.

Mr. Ferreiro focuses on M&A, joint ventures, and other commercial transactions in the real estate sector, such as acquisitions of non-performing loans (NPLs) and real estate owned (REOs), hotels, logistic assets, and real estate management platforms, as well as debt restructuring and real estate financing transactions. 

Mr. Ferreiro’s experience includes advising:

  • CVC on its €2 billion investment in LaLiga, Spain’s professional football league
  • Hyatt Hotels Corporation on its US$2.7 billion acquisition of Apple Leisure Group, a leading luxury resort-management services, travel, and hospitality group
  • Latécoère on the acquisition of the entire share capital of Malaga Aerospace, Defense & Electronics Systems (MADES)
  • Cerberus on the acquisition of 80% of the entire real estate portfolio of Banco Sabadell
  • ActivumSG on the acquisition of the Nobu Hotel located in Barcelona from the Selenta Group
  • Cerberus on the acquisition of 80% of BBVA´s real estate business
  • Cerberus on the takeover bid for 100% of the shares in Optimum RE Spain, a Spanish REIT listed in BME Growth
  • KKR on the divestment of its stake in the company LB Oprent, S.A. and on the assignment of leasing receivables to a Spanish financial entity
  • Cerberus on the acquisition of a portfolio of consumer and SME non-performing loans secured by c. 2,300 real estate assets from Unicaja Banco
  • Cerberus on the acquisition of three logistic real estate assets located in different regions of Spain with a total built area of c. 100k square meters
  • Intu Properties on the acquisition from Ivanhoé Cambridge of a 180,000 m2 shopping mall and entertainment center, Madrid Xanadú*
  • Joint venture between Neinver and TH Real Estate, real estate asset managers based in Spain and the UK, respectively, on the acquisition of the Nassica shopping centre from the US-based private equity firm KKR*
