Fernando Ferreiro is a corporate associate in Latham & Watkins’ Madrid office. A member of the Real Estate Practice, he has outstanding experience advising private equity, private credit, and infrastructure funds, as well as financial institutions and real estate asset administration and management entities.

Fernando focuses on M&A, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions in the real estate and infrastructure sectors, such as acquisitions of non-performing loans (NPLs), performing loans (PLs) and real estate owned assets (REOs), hotels, logistic assets, data centers, infrastructure assets, and real estate management platforms, as well as debt restructuring and real estate financing transactions.

Fernando’s experience includes advising:

  • StepStone on its joint venture with Greykite to acquire a controlling interest in Vitalia Home from CVC and Portobello Capital
  • Goldman Sachs on the financing and public securitization of six portfolios of performing and re-performing residential mortgage loans in Spain
  • ASG Iberia on the powered land sale for the development and construction of a data center in Vicálvaro (Madrid)
  • Aedas Homes on:
    • The acquisition of the land bank of Promociones Habitat in Spain, with a development capacity of c. 2,800 homes
    • The acquisition of Promociones y Propiedades Inmobiliarias Espacio (PRIESA) from Grupo Villar Mir
  • Cerberus on the acquisition of a majority stake in Ferrer Hotels, a hospitality group based in the Balearic Islands
  • An institutional investor on the sale of a majority stake in a group of companies which own and operate a portfolio of hospitality assets in Calviá, Mallorca (Spain)
  • KKR in the context of the Series C financing and equity round of Drive Revel, a Spanish car subscription company
  • ASG Iberia on the powered land sale for the development and construction of a data center in Meco (Madrid)
  • One of the main creditors on the Spanish restructuring of Celsa, a Spanish steel manufacturing group
  • CVC on its €2 billion investment in LaLiga, Spain’s professional football league
  • Hyatt Hotels Corporation on its US$2.7 billion acquisition of Apple Leisure Group, a leading luxury resort-management services, travel, and hospitality group
  • Latécoère on the acquisition of the entire share capital of Malaga Aerospace, Defense & Electronics Systems (MADES)
  • Cerberus on the acquisition of 80% of the entire real estate portfolio of Banco Sabadell
  • ASG Iberia on the acquisition of the Nobu Hotel located in Barcelona from the Selenta Group
  • Cerberus on the acquisition of 80% of BBVA´s real estate business
  • Cerberus on the takeover bid for 100% of the shares in Optimum RE Spain, a Spanish REIT listed in BME Growth
  • KKR on the divestment of its stake in the company LB Oprent, S.A. and on the assignment of leasing receivables to a Spanish financial entity
  • Cerberus on the acquisition of a portfolio of consumer and SME non-performing loans secured by c. 2,300 real estate assets from Unicaja Banco
