Ellen Sheely Fischer is a banking associate in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins.

Ellen represents banks, financial institutions, corporate borrowers, and private equity firms in a variety of domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including in connection with leveraged buyouts, acquisition financings, recapitalizations, and refinancings across a wide range of industries.

Ellen has served on the firm’s Recruiting Committee and is a member of the Women Enriching Business and LGBTQ affinity groups.

Prior to joining Latham, Ellen was a Public Interest Law Initiative Graduate Fellow with the Torture Inquiry and Relief Commission of the State of Illinois and served as a judicial extern to Judge Deborah Thorne in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago.

During law school, Ellen was an executive editor of and published author in the Northwestern Journal of International Law and Business.
