Edward Lee is an associate in the Tokyo office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Project Development and Finance Practice.

Edward represents sponsors, borrowers, export credit agencies, commercial and investment banks, and other financial institutions on banking and project finance transactions within the energy, infrastructure, and natural resources sectors.

Edward previously trained in Latham’s London and New York offices, where he gained experience in project development and finance, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets transactions.

Edward’s experience includes:

  • Edwards Sanborn 1C Project, USA: Advising Terra-Gen Power in respect of the syndicated debt and tax equity project financing of an approximately 148 MW (ac) photovoltaic solar generating facility (Edwards Sanborn 1C) located in Mojave, California
  • Desert Quartzite Project, USA: Advising Power Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Inc. on the project development matters in relation to the acquisition of a 50% stake in the Desert Quartzite project, a 300-MW solar generation and a 150-MW battery energy storage facility, located in California, USA
  • Axian Telecom in connection with the issuance of US$600 million 7.250% senior notes due 2030, as well as its entry into a US$150 million term credit facility agreement and a US$50 million revolving credit facility
  • The lenders in relation to the amendment and restatement of Ineos’ borrowing base facility to include the Forties Pipeline System
  • SACE and HSBC Bank on a first-of-its-kind SACE guaranteed financing with an Islamic finance structure (Commodity Murabaha) in favor of the IFFCO Group, an international food & beverage group headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, as part of SACE’s Push Program
