Edd Rarity is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Global Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Mr. Rarity advises on a range of international antitrust and regulatory matters, including merger control, competition law compliance, foreign investment control, and State aid. His experience covers several industry sectors including technology, financial services, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and defense and aerospace.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Rarity worked in the London office of a leading US firm. 

Mr. Rarity’s experience includes advising:

  • ADNOC on merger and foreign investment control aspects of its acquisition of a 24.9% stake in OMV AG*
  • Société Générale on merger control and foreign investment control aspects of the formation of its cash equity research and execution joint venture with AllianceBernstein*
  • ADNOC on merger control aspects of its greenfield low-carbon ammonia joint venture with international partners*
  • PSA International on merger control and foreign investment control aspects of its acquisition of global logistics provider BDP International*
  • Hitachi on merger control and foreign investment control aspects of its US$9.5 billion acquisition of GlobalLogic*
  • Qualtrics, a subsidiary of SAP, on merger control and foreign investment control aspects of its US$1.125 billion acquisition of Clarabridge, Inc.*
  • Raytheon on merger control and foreign investment control aspects of its US$120 billion defense merger with UTC*
