Daniel Muheme is an associate in the Brussels office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Global Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Mr. Muheme advises clients on all aspects of EU and Belgian competition law and represents them before the European Commission and the Belgian Competition Authority.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Muheme worked as an associate at other global law firms in Brussels and gained experience as a research and teaching assistant in European and Belgian competition law at the University of Liège (Liege Competition and Innovation Institute – LCII). He has also worked as a legal intern at the Office of International Affairs of the US Federal Trade Commission and at the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission, where he focused on antitrust issues in the media sector (Mergers and Telecommunication Unit).

  • Merck with worldwide merger control filings for its acquisition of Antelliq*
  • A manufacturer in a cartel investigation before the European Commission in the styrene monomer cartel*
  • A technology company in Articles 101 and 102 TFEU investigations before the European Commission and the KFTC*
  • A pharmaceutical company in an investigation by the CMA under Chapters I and II of the Competition Act and Articles 101 and 102 TFEU in relation to alleged excessive pricing practices*
  • Elbit Systems in its US$380 million acquisition of Sparton Corporation*
  • DPG Media on the sale of its Belgian mobile telecom subsidiary Mobile Vikings to Proximus Group*
  • A number of companies in relation to compliance investigations and trainings*
