Ann Buckingham has extensive experience representing companies on transformational, complex, and cross-border joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions, with a particular focus on the communications, technology, real estate, gaming, and energy sectors. Ms. Buckingham serves as primary outside corporate counsel for a range of public and private companies, and also advises on LLC and partnership structures, general corporate and securities matters, and capital markets transactions.

Ms. Buckingham's recognition includes San Diego Daily Transcript 2022 Influential Women of San Diego. Ms. Buckingham has been the lead author of chapters on telecom regulation in emerging markets in Telecommunications Law and Regulation since 2005 (current edition: 5 ed., 2018, OUP).

Ms. Buckingham’s recent experience includes advising:

  • Viasat on its multi-billion dollar acquisition of Inmarsat, a UK-based global provider of mobile satellite services
  • Digital Realty on its multi-billion dollar acquisition of a majority stake in Teraco, Africa's leading carrier-neutral colocation provider, and associated joint venture arrangements
  • Digital Realty on its contribution of assets valued at US$1.4 billion to a newly formed Singapore REIT and associated joint venture arrangements, resulting in a successful listing on the Singapore Stock Exchange
  • Digital Realty on its US$1.8 billion joint venture with funds managed by Brookfield Asset Management regarding Ascenty, the premier Brazilian data center provider
  • Digital Realty on its US$1 billion joint venture with Mapletree Investments regarding a portfolio of hyper-scale data centers
  • Numerous clients (including Peninsula Pacific Entertainment, PIMCO, Realty Income Corporation, Viasat, and Wynn Resorts) on various joint venture transactions and investments around the globe
  • Viasat on various acquisitions relating to broadband satellite, WiFi and internet access networks, and encryption technologies
  • Huntsman Family Investments on its acquisition of GTA TeleGuam
  • T-Mobile on its spectrum transactions with DISH Network Corporation
  • Golden Entertainment on its merger with Lakes Entertainment
