Andrej Novakovski is a litigation and trial associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins, and represents large corporations, financial institutions, and individuals in a range of civil and criminal litigation matters, with a particular focus on securities class actions. Mr. Novakovski’s practice spans a range of industries, including technology, energy, and consumer products.

Mr. Novakovski is an active member of the firm’s pro bono program and was a recipient of the firm’s 2020 Robert M. Dell Prize for Extraordinary Pro Bono Service as part of a team that successfully litigated a Voting Rights Act lawsuit in the East Ramapo Central School District in New York.

Mr. Novakovski earned his JD from UCLA School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as staff editor of the Journal of International Law & Foreign Affairs.

  • A major financial institution as indenture trustee in seeking injunctive relief against a bond issuer to install significant controls over a casino’s operations to protect bondholders’ collateral
  • A multinational semiconductor company in acquisition-related litigation
  • A renewable energy company in connection with enforcing an arbitration award in federal court
  • A technology company in connection with breach of fiduciary duty, trade secret, and unfair competition claims
  • A civil rights organization in successfully litigating a Voting Rights Act lawsuit, including examining several witnesses at trial
