Allison Blanco is an associate in the Los Angeles and Orange County offices of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm's Litigation & Trial Department. Ms. Blanco’s practice focuses on intellectual property, with experience in complex disputes relating to trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights and licensing, as well as sports, entertainment and media litigation.

Ms. Blanco has extensive experience in both procedural and substantive law, as she has successfully litigated before numerous federal and state courts.

Ms. Blanco's substantive experience includes:  

  • Trademark and trade dress infringement litigation, counseling, prosecution and worldwide trademark portfolio management
  • False/comparative advertising and unfair competition litigation 
  • Trade secret counseling and litigation
  • Copyright counseling and litigation 
  • Internet law, including web-scraping, CAN-SPAM, computer fraud, and domain name recovery and management
  • Online defamation and rights of publicity 
  • Breach of contract and commercial disputes

While in law school, Ms. Blanco worked for the US Attorney’s Office of the Central District of California and the Honorable Arthur C. Alarcón of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Ms. Blanco’s recent matters include representation of:

  • craigslist, Inc. in a web scraping case with approximately 20 causes of action, including copyright, trademark, Computer Fraud and Abuse and CAN-SPAM Act violations
  • The Yucaipa Companies in a trademark infringement and abandonment action involving the Aloha Airlines trademarks
  • Networking hardware resellers in connection with investigations by the Department of Justice relating to counterfeit products and fraud
  • A Fortune 100 conglomerate in a trademark licensing dispute
  • A major sports organization in cases attacking an investigation and sanctions issued against one of its member organizations
  • Allergan in the attempted hostile takeover by Valeant and Bill Ackman’s Pershing Square
  • One of world’s leading window and door manufacturers, a third-party in a trade secret litigation between its competitor and former employee
  • Various technology and internet companies in trademark infringement lawsuits, enforcement actions and global trademark portfolio management
