Latham & Watkins Represents Mercuria Energy in the Acquisition of Carbon Credits Created by LandYield Holdings

Firm advises the energy trading firm on landmark US forestry transaction.

Mercuria Energy Group, a global energy and commodity group, plans to acquire carbon credits created by LandYield Holdings, a sponsor of carbon project involving small landowners that will utilize a platform developed by Finite Carbon, a leading developer of carbon projects in the US.

Latham & Watkins represents Mercuria in the transaction with a carbon credit creation and monetization team led by New York partner JP Brisson and Los Angeles counsel Michael Dreibelbis, with New York associate Qingyi Pan. Advice was also provided on regulatory matters by New York partners Stephen Wink and Yvette Valdez, and New York associates Naffie Lamin and Alex Liscio.
