Latham & Watkins Advises on NRG Energy’s Senior Notes Offerings Totaling US$2.6 Billion and US$1.5 Billion Tender Offer

NRG Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NRG) has announced it has priced offerings of US$500 million aggregate principal amount of 4.955% senior secured first lien notes due 2031 and senior unsecured notes, consisting of US$1.05 billion aggregate principal amount of 5.875% senior unsecured notes due 2034 and US$1.05 billion aggregate principal amount of 6.125% senior unsecured notes due 2036. Additionally, NRG announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Lightning Power, LLC, has commenced an offer to purchase for cash any and all of Lightning’s outstanding 7.250% senior secured notes due 2032, of which US$1.5 billion aggregate principal amount is currently outstanding.
