Latham Honored Across Nine Categories in New England Legal Awards

Latham & Watkins earned recognition across major categories in Law.com’s fourth annual New England Legal Awards, with wins or finalist designations in nine contests. The firm’s showing in the award program reflects the market-leading work by lawyers in Latham’s Boston office.

The firm was named winner for Business Litigation Department of the Year and is shortlisted for Litigation Department of the Year in both the General Litigation and Commercial Litigation categories.

Two Latham partners won marquee awards, which will be presented at Law.com’s awards ceremony in October: 

• Distinguished Leader: BJ Trach, Global Chair of Latham’s Litigation & Trial Department, recognized for his successes in high-impact complex criminal and civil litigation and leadership within the firm.
• Lifetime Achievement: John Chory, former Global Chair of the firm’s Emerging Companies & Growth Practice, honored for his storied career and contributions to the Massachusetts legal community. 

Latham also boasts finalists in the following categories, reinforcing the deep bench and breadth of success in the firm’s Boston office: 

• IP Attorney of the Year: Charles Sanders, Global Vice Chair of Latham’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice, recognized for his recent string of victories on behalf of tech companies in high-stakes disputes. 
• M&A Attorney of the Year: Hans Brigham, former Global Vice Chair of Latham’s Corporate Department and former Boston Managing Partner, selected for his work helping clients navigate a broad range of transaction-based services.
• Social Impact: Todd Gleason, a partner in Latham’s M&A and Emerging Companies & Growth practices, chosen for his wide-ranging pro bono work spanning citizenship, asylum, veterans’ advocacy, and nonprofit support, as well as his mentorship in the firm’s Boston office.
• Legal Innovators & Disrupters: Shlomo Fellig, an associate in the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department, selected for building practical AI-enabled tools that solve firm challenges and custom applications to address client-specific issues in real time.

Winners of the shortlisted categories will be announced at the October awards ceremony.
