Colleen Smith Honored Among California’s Top Women Lawyers
Colleen Smith, Global Vice Chair of the firm’s Securities and M&A Litigation Practice and Global Vice Chair of the Public Company & Board Representation Practice, has been named to the Daily Journal’s 2026 list of Top Women Lawyers in California. The annual feature honors female attorneys at the top of their respective areas of law.
Colleen’s profile highlights her leading role advising public companies in high‑stakes litigation and investigations, including securities class actions, M&A and shareholder disputes, and corporate governance matters. The Daily Journal spotlights several of her recent successes, including two major victories for The Trade Desk in the Delaware Court of Chancery addressing reincorporation and executive compensation issues; securing full dismissal of two securities class actions for The Metals Company within one month of each other; and winning dismissal of a securities class action against Kohl’s relating to its strategic plan.
Reflecting on her practice, Colleen noted, “Each case is unique. The core issues in these cases often revolve around the specific company’s business and its industry, so in every case you must master those unique facts.”
