Recognized by The American Lawyer 45 times in 2025, again the most of any law firm

Latham has once again earned the highest number of recognitions in The American Lawyer’s prestigious Litigators of the Week column for 2025. With 45 mentions in total, the firm’s Global Litigation & Trial Department secured the top spot for the third consecutive year, reinforcing Latham’s status as a leading litigation powerhouse.

Latham teams won the overall Litigators of the Week competition four times in 2025:

  • An intellectual property team representing Sarepta Therapeutics, which successfully defended against a US$290 million patent infringement claim and secured a US$116 million award for Sarepta in a one-week trial in Delaware.
  • An antitrust team representing the U.S. Soccer Federation, which secured a unanimous jury verdict in New York federal court, successfully defeating claims brought by the North American Soccer League.
  • An intellectual property team representing AbbVie, which secured the latest of five patent litigation settlements with generic manufacturers, protecting AbbVie’s blockbuster immunology drug Rinvoq until 2037.
  • A multidisciplinary team of complex commercial and privacy & cyber litigators representing SolarWinds, which achieved complete dismissal of the SEC’s landmark enforcement action against the company.
  • “In 2025, Latham continued to lead market defining disputes across jurisdictions and industries, securing precedent setting victories with lasting impact,” said Michele Johnson, Global Chair of Latham’s Litigation & Trial Department. “Our third consecutive year as the firm with the most appearances in Litigators of the Week highlights our unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding results for our clients. As the department evolves and expands, we are excited about the successes that lie ahead.”

The 45 recognitions spanned litigation practices, including antitrust, appellate, complex commercial, copyright, environmental, intellectual property, privacy & cyber, securities and M&A, and white collar. These successes were achieved for clients across diverse industries, including artificial intelligence, life sciences, sports, technology, retail, and more.
