Latham Named Finalist for Six 2026 Leaders in Tech Law Awards
Latham & Watkins has been named a finalist in six categories for American Lawyer Media’s (ALM) annual Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Awards 2026. The recognized leaders and initiatives include:
- Eric Rice, a New York partner in Latham’s Capital Markets and Derivatives, Equities & Structured Products practices, in the Innovators of the Year — Law Firm (Individual) category for his pioneering work developing Filament, an internal web application that generates execution-ready capped call confirmations in connection with the pricing of convertible note offerings. Filament was also named a finalist in the categories of Best Custom Legal Technology Development and Innovations in Dealmaking.
- Lawrence Peters, Director of Technology Services EMEA & Program Delivery, in the Change Management Leader of the Year — Law Firm (Individual) category for his leadership implementing AI First, a training and certification program designed for business services colleagues to develop practical AI skills, enhance their knowledge, and integrate AI into daily workflows. AI First was also shortlisted in the Best Tech Training Program Implementation category.
- New York partners Steve Wink, Co-Chair of Latham’s Fintech Industry Group, and Yvette Valdez, Co-Chair of Latham’s Global Digital Assets & Web3 Practice, Bay Area partner Zach Fallon, in the Regulatory, Governance and Compliance Technology category for creating the US Crypto Policy Tracker, a single source to track actions emerging from federal and state regulators, Congress, and the Executive Branch related to the rapidly evolving blockchain, cryptocurrency, and digital asset landscape.
