Hong Kong DOJ Highlights Latham’s Role Advising WeRide IPO
Latham & Watkins has been featured in the Hong Kong Department of Justice’s inaugural Collection of Success Stories: Hong Kong’s Professional Services Supporting Chinese Mainland Enterprises Going Global. The publication profiles more than 50 achievements across legal, finance, accounting, and dispute resolution, demonstrating “how Hong Kong’s professional services empower companies to overcome challenges in global expansion” and elevate their market value.
The Hong Kong DOJ spotlighted Latham’s role advising the underwriters on autonomous driving company WeRide’s HK$2.4 billion IPO and dual primary listing on the HKEX and the US SEC-registered offering, making it the first dual primary listed 18C Specialist Technology Company with a WVR structure on HKEX. The listing “enabled WeRide to access deeper pools of international capital” amid global expansion and rising competition, according to the publication.
The DOJ also underscored Latham’s ability to help clients “navigate their most complex and consequential deals in the EV, robotics, healthcare, semiconductors, digital assets, energy, and other cutting-edge sectors” in Hong Kong and beyond.
