The most of any law firm, the honorees were recognized for their work on market-leading transactions and high-stakes litigation and trial victories.

Twelve Latham & Watkins partners were named 2025 MVPs of the Year by Law360, the most of any law firm this year. The annual selection of leading lawyers across the industry recognizes honorees who “have distinguished themselves from their peers by securing significant achievements in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.”

The 2025 Latham Law360 MVPs are:

He leads the Latham teams representing Blackstone and Hotwire Communications in Brookfield Infrastructure’s US$7 billion strategic investment in Hotwire, and CPP Investments in a US$15+ billion joint venture to expand hyperscale data centers in the US.
  • Rachel Bates: Real Estate — The Global Vice Chair of Latham’s Real Estate Practice, Rachel advises clients on all aspects of their most significant real estate transactions across a variety of asset classes. She is among the firm’s top strategic advisors to Hyatt Hotels Corporation, representing the hospitality giant in its US$1.07 billion sale of Hyatt Regency Orlando, its US$2.6 billion acquisition of Playa Hotels, and the subsequent US$2 billion spin-out of the Playa portfolio.

He leads the Latham team advising Cox Enterprises in its blockbuster US$34.5 billion transaction with Charter Communications and also helped lead appellate challenges poised to shape the industry’s future, including overturning the FCC’s imposition of common-carrier requirements on broadband providers and challenging the agency’s digital discrimination and data breach reporting rules.
  • Les Carnegie: International Trade — The co-leader of both Latham’s Economic Sanctions & Export Controls Practice and the CFIUS & US National Security Practice, Les advises companies, financial institutions, and private equity funds on a variety of national security issues, including sanctions, export controls, and foreign investment reviews.
