Two Latham Lawyers Named Rising Stars by Asian Legal Business
Latham Singapore partner Stacey Wong and counsel Penelope Davey have been named among Asian Legal Business' Singapore Rising Stars 2025.
Wong, a member of the firm’s Capital Markets Practice, advises clients on complex cross-border equity and bond transactions. He counsels high-growth and private equity-backed companies, government-linked and sovereign issuers, and state-owned enterprises across Southeast Asia, including India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, and the Philippines. Wong has advised on a number of high profile matters, including Black Spade Acquisition II’s listing on Nasdaq and its subsequent business combination with World Media Entertainment Group, and Johor Plantations on its US$156 million IPO on the Bursa Malaysia.
Davey, a member of the firm’s M&A and Private Equity Practice, advises private equity firms, venture capital firms, investment funds, and financial institutions, as well as emerging companies, corporates, and state-owned enterprises on complex cross-border transactions in Southeast Asia, including mergers, acquisitions, divestments, auctions, joint ventures, and venture capital financings. Davey has advised on a number of notable transactions, including I Squared Capital’s US$460 million acquisition of Philippine Coastal Storage & Pipeline Corp, the largest independent import terminal in the Philippines, and a consortium of Japanese buyers, including Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. and Sumitomo Corporation, in connection with their strategic investment in AG&P LNG Marketing Pte. Ltd., a platform that invests in companies that develop city gas distribution networks in India.
