Latham & Watkins Secures Partial Victory for Michelin in EU Antitrust Dawn Raid Case

Paris antitrust team represents the French tire manufacturer on the case.
Latham & Watkins advised Michelin, a leading tire manufacturer, in securing a partial victory against the European Commission regarding dawn raids conducted in January 2024 as part of an investigation into a potential cartel in the tire sector.
On July 9, 2025, the EU General Court, confirming the validity of part of Michelin's claims, ruled that the European Commission lacked sufficiently serious indications for part of the period covered by the investigation, thereby preventing them from utilizing the seized information covering that timeframe as part of their ongoing investigation.
