Latham & Watkins Advises Cognition in Acquisition of Windsurf

Cognition, an applied AI lab building end-to-end software agents, has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Windsurf, the agentic IDE. The acquisition includes Windsurf’s intellectual property, product, trademark and brand, business, and people.

Latham & Watkins LLP represents Cognition in the transaction with a corporate deal team led by Bay Area partners Greg Roussel and Seth Gottlieb, with associates Luke Blackett, Kevin Schunk, Samantha Wang, and Will Fowler.
