Latham Receives 13 China Business Law Journal Awards
China Business Law Journal has honored Latham & Watkins with 13 awards at its China Business Law Awards 2025, including naming the firm as a Best International Law Firm for the fourth-consecutive year. The annual awards program is based on nominations from China-focused corporate counsel and legal professionals, as well as a survey of law firm clients on service satisfaction levels, and consideration of notable deals and other achievements.
The publication recognized Latham as a Best International Law Firm for aligning its operations in Asia with clients' regional perspectives and aspirations. It highlighted Latham's central role in several heavyweight deals last year, including the overseas IPOs of WeRide, Amer Sports, and RoboSense; Trustar Capital's acquisition of all McDonald's China equity from CITIC; and the US$7.1 billion take-private of ESR Group.
The firm also received recognition in the Legaltech Pioneers and Pro bono categories for the first time. In the practice categories, the firm was commended for its market-leading work in Capital Markets (Hong Kong & overseas), Corporate Compliance, Cross-border Arbitration, M&A (inbound/domestic and outbound), Private Equity & Venture Capital, Structured Finance & Securitization, Fintech & Blockchain, Media, Entertainment & Sports, and Real Estate & REIT.
In April Latham was also recognized for advising on 13 of China Business Law Journal’s 2024 Deals of the Year across five practice categories.
