Latham & Watkins Represents Apollo in €1 Billion Investment in Vonovia Portfolio

Cross-border team led by members of the firm’s private equity real estate team advised the global alternative asset manager on its investment in a portfolio comprising more than 21,000 residential units.

Apollo (NYSE: APO) and Vonovia (FRA: VNA) announced an agreement for the investment of Apollo, on behalf of its affiliated and third-party insurance clients and other long-term investors, in a portfolio of high-quality real estate assets controlled by Vonovia, a leading European residential real estate company, which is valued at €3.3 billion on a debt free and cash free basis, for €1 billion.

Latham & Watkins LLP represented Apollo in the transaction with a private equity real estate deal team led by Frankfurt partners Otto von Gruben and Carsten Loll, and New York partner and Global Co-Chair of the Real Estate Practice Michael Haas, with Frankfurt associate Dominik Waldvogel.
