Latham Advises ProLogium on Cooperation Agreement With Mercedes-Benz
Latham & Watkins has advised ProLogium, a leader in solid-state batteries, on its cooperation agreement with Mercedes-Benz to develop next-generation battery cells for Mercedes-Benz’ electric vehicles, including passenger vehicles and utility vehicles. The first Mercedes-Benz test vehicles equipped with solid-state batteries co-developed with ProLogium are expected to be introduced in the coming years, with integration into a range of passenger vehicles in the second half of the decade.
Based in Taiwan, ProLogium is a global leader in innovative next-generation battery technologies for vehicle, consumer, and industrial applications. Founded in 2006, ProLogium is the first battery company to commercialize and mass-produce solid-state lithium ceramic batteries for consumer and industrial applications.
The cross-border Latham team was led by Hong Kong partner David Blumental and Frankfurt partner Susan Kempe-Mueller, with Hong Kong partner Benjamin Su and Dusseldorf associate Katharina Intfeld.
