Amanda Reeves Named GCR’s 2021 Lawyer of the Year

May 21, 2021
As part of the annual GCR Awards, the Global Chair of Latham’s Antitrust & Competition Practice was voted on by her peers as the year’s most impressive antitrust practitioner.

For the second consecutive year, a Latham & Watkins partner has been honored with Global Competition Review’s top individual prize. In 2021, Washington, D.C. partner and Global Chair of the firm’s elite Antitrust & Competition Practice Amanda Reeves was voted by her peers around the world as the competition lawyer “whose superior skill, practical judgement and excellence in client service in 2020 demonstrate that he or she is among the very best in the field.”

Held annually by the world’s leading antitrust publication, the GCR Awards honor the best and brightest individuals and teams whose work and leadership made a significant impact and contribution to the competition community and practice of law.

In her profile, Ms. Reeves discussed several high-profile matters she’s leading that are shaping competition law, her advice for the up-and-coming generations of antitrust talent, as well as her predictions on what’s to come for companies, agencies, and private practitioners alike. She also offered wisdom garnered from practicing law during a global pandemic: “We all work so hard that we need to remember what an exceptional time it is to be practising antitrust law in 2021.”

Practice-wide, Latham earned a number of top 2021 GCR Award winner and Finalists slots, described here.

Partner and former Chair of Latham’s Antitrust & Competition Practice Daniel Wall was voted the 2020 GCR Award Lawyer of the Year.
