A private equity consortium jointly led by Astorg Partners and Cinven received clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) in connection with its acquisition of LGC, a global leader in the life sciences tools sector that provides a comprehensive range of measurement tools, proficiency testing schemes, supply chain assurance standards, and specialty genomics reagents underpinned by leading analytical and measurement science capabilities. CFIUS concluded that there were no unresolved national security issues with respect to the transaction.
Latham & Watkins LLP represents the consortium led by Astorg and Cinven in the transaction and advised the company on the CFIUS clearance process. The CFIUS team was led by Washington, D.C. partner Les Carnegie and counsel Rachel Alpert, with associate Julie Choi Shin. The corporate deal team is led by London partners Thomas Forschbach, Tom Evans, Jay Sadanandan, and Neil Campbell.
