Latham & Watkins Partners With the World Economic Forum to Produce AI Leadership Toolkit

January 21, 2020
First-of-its-kind toolkit provides resources and strategies to support boards in meeting their oversight responsibilities while deploying innovative artificial intelligence solutions.

Latham & Watkins has partnered with the World Economic Forum (WEF) Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution to produce the Empowering AI Leadership Toolkit. The first-of-its-kind, complimentary toolkit provides easy-to-reference resources and strategies to support boards in meeting their oversight responsibilities while deploying innovative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions that impact their shareholders, employees, customers, supply chain, and other constituencies. The toolkit covers 12 modules, including ethics, audit, cybersecurity, governance, technology, and more.

Karen Silverman, a partner in Latham’s San Francisco office, said: “As business races to capture the opportunities associated with AI and AI-driven tools, management and boards are charged with understanding and overseeing these transformative technologies and their impact. We are pleased to partner with the World Economic Forum’s Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution on this best-practices toolkit, which provides essential resources, checklists, and guidance to support board directors in this critical work.”

The toolkit for boards of directors is being launched at the annual World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland. Under the leadership of the World Economic Forum Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, AI experts designed the toolkit in collaboration with board members and key stakeholders from more than 100 companies in six countries to ensure that it meets the specific needs of business leaders and can lead to practical action and tangible impact.
