Adam Goldberg, a partner in the firm’s Restructuring, Insolvency & Workouts Practice, has been named to Turnarounds & Workouts’ 2017 list of “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyers.” The annual list recognizes 12 restructuring lawyers in the United States under age 40 who have distinguished themselves as leaders in their practice.

A special report published by Turnarounds & Workouts highlights a few of Goldberg’s “outstanding achievements” that contributed to his selection for inclusion in the 2017 list:

  • Co-led representing the official creditors’ committee in Energy XXI, proposing competing plans and alternative transactions that materially increased unsecured creditors’ recoveries.

  • Represented DTEK Holdings (generating approximately one-third of the electricity in Ukraine and employing over 100,000 people) in an English law scheme of arrangement of its Dutch subsidiary.

Goldberg has developed his practice working out of Latham’s London, Dubai, Houston and currently New York offices and handles a range of issues including litigation, finance oriented restructuring transactions, and asset sales on behalf of creditors, secured creditors, and acquirers. He has developed creative financing structures and innovative legal strategies for all facets of the restructuring and reorganization process, both in and out of court.
