Susan S. Azad retired from the partnership on May 31, 2017. She was a member of the Latham & Watkins Litigation & Trial Department. Ms. Azad practiced with the firm since 1989 and has extensive trial, arbitration and appellate experience. She focused her practice on:

  • Healthcare
  • Intellectual property
  • Insurance fraud
  • Financial and land use litigation
  • Legal ethics

Ms. Azad is a member of the Lexis/Nexis California Advisory Board, which advises the company on issues relating to the California legal market. In 2009 and 2010, she was retained by Matthew Bender & Company to publish practice tips for California jury instructions, which were published in California Forms of Jury Instruction. She also served on the firm's Pro Bono Committee from 2006-2011.
