Steven Lesan is an associate in the Environment, Land & Resources Department in the San Diego office of Latham & Watkins. Mr. Lesan represents policyholders in high-stakes insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, and counsels clients on environmental compliance and complex environmental litigation.
Mr. Lesan has handled a range of insurance coverage and bad faith disputes, including claims for coverage under commercial general liability and excess policies, directors and officers’ liability, cyber liability, employment practices liability and environmental impairment policies. His environmental experience includes representing clients in the agrochemical, aerospace and construction industries in a variety of significant disputes, including site remediation, cost recovery and indemnity litigation, and administrative enforcement matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lesan served as a judicial extern for the Honorable M. Margaret McKeown of the US Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit and for the Honorable Thomas J. Whelan of the US District Court for the Southern District of California. While in law school, Mr. Lesan was the comments editor for the San Diego Law Review.
