Matthew K. Roskoski

Deputy General Counsel

Matthew Roskoski advises Latham & Watkins on the broad spectrum of legal questions that arise in the course of the firm’s business.

He leverages more than two decades experience at Latham and sophisticated subject-matter knowledge to guide the firm on matters ranging from litigation and insurance, through security and privacy, to compliance and training.

Within the firm, Mr. Roskoski serves on the Ethics Committee and the Security Committee. He also serves on the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on International Trade in Legal Services, and as an ad hoc hearing committee member for the District of Columbia Board on Professional Responsibility.

A recognized thought leader, he regularly speaks on legal ethics, including for the International Legal Technology Association, Aon Law Firm Symposium, and APRL/Law Society of England & Wales. He teaches at the Law Firm General Counsel Workshop presented by The Center on Ethics and the Legal Profession at Georgetown Law and formerly taught the Virginia State Bar’s mandatory professionalism course.

Before joining the Office of the General Counsel, Mr. Roskoski was a litigation associate in Latham’s Washington, D.C., office, focused on securities and appellate matters. Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Roskoski clerked for the Hon. Patrick Higginbotham of the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
