Jeffrey Mispagel is a counsel in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins. He is a member of the Finance Department and the Restructuring & Special Situations Practice.

Jeffrey represents distressed companies, lenders, creditors,  shareholders, and buyers in distressed situations, including chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, and assignments for the benefit of creditors. He has particular experience representing debtors in chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganizations. His practice includes restructurings spanning diverse industries, such as retail and consumer products, energy, and pharmaceuticals.

Jeffrey’s experience includes representing:

  • SI Group, a global leader in performance additives, process solutions, and chemical intermediates, in connection with an out-of-court recapitalization
  • FlexGen Power Systems, a provider of software and services for battery energy storage systems, in its acquisition of assets from Powin, LLC through a section 363 bankruptcy sale
  • First Mode Holdings, a multinational developer and manufacturer of decarbonization solutions for heavy industry, in its chapter 11 cases and sale process
  • Audacy, the second largest US radio broadcaster, in its pre-packaged chapter 11 restructuring
  • Mallinckrodt, a biopharmaceutical company, in its 2020 and 2023 chapter 11 restructuring
  • Starry Group Holdings, an internet service provider network, in its chapter 11 restructuring
  • Sundance Energy, an independent oil and gas exploration and production company operating in the Eagle Ford Shale, in its pre-packaged chapter 11 restructuring
  • GNC, a leading global health and wellness brand, in connection with its chapter 11 cases and sale process
  • Monitronics International, a security alarm monitoring company, in connection with its pre-packaged chapter 11 restructuring
  • The official committee of unsecured creditors in the bankruptcy proceedings of Synergy Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company
  • Illinois Power Generating Company, a merchant electricity generation business in Illinois, in its pre-packaged chapter 11 restructuring
