Elizabeth A. Parvis is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins, and is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Trial Department.
Ms. Parvis specializes in high-stakes complex commercial disputes and securities litigation matters, and has diverse experience representing institutional and individual clients, including public and private companies, financial institutions, large corporations, and professional services firms in both state and federal courts across the country. Drawing on her significant stand-up experience and written advocacy skills, Ms. Parvis guides clients throughout all phases of litigation, regularly delivering winning outcomes and business-focused results.
Complementing this work, Ms. Parvis maintains a robust pro bono practice, and recently helped a prominent military veteran and disaster-relief organization secure a preliminary injunction enjoining its affiliate from utilizing its trademark. After oral argument, the injunction was upheld unanimously by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Additionally, Ms. Parvis was a member of a cross-office Latham team that, together with the New York Civil Liberties Union, brought a Voting Rights Act lawsuit against a school district on behalf of the Spring Valley NAACP and black and Latinx voters. Ms. Parvis was a recipient of the Latham Pro Bono Committee’s Pro Bono Star Award in 2018 and 2020 in connection with this work.
Active in firm leadership, Ms. Parvis served a two-year term on the firm’s Recruiting Committee, is a member of the Women Lawyers Group and Parents Lawyer Group, and helps facilitate the firm’s Deposition Training Program.
Ms. Parvis has been named a NY Metro Rising Star by Super Lawyers annually since 2020.
While attending Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, Ms. Parvis served as executive articles editor of Columbia Human Rights Law Review and interned for Judge Sandra L. Townes in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
