Dennis Mai represents a broad range of clients in intellectual property disputes in administrative tribunals, state courts, and federal courts across the United States. Mr. Mai also counsels clients on the maintenance and enforcement of their intellectual property rights including trademarks, trade dress, and domain names.

Mr. Mai advises technology companies, financial institutions, and well-known consumer brands in high stakes intellectual property disputes. He focuses specifically on disputes involving trademark issues that pose significant risk to the client’s goodwill, reputation, and sales.

Mr. Mai is a member of the LGBTQ Lawyers Group and Asian American and Middle Eastern Lawyers Group. While attending New York University School of Law, Mr. Mai served as a managing editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law.

Mr. Mai has handled disputes for a variety of clients across diverse industries including:

  • Peloton in numerous trademark and false advertising disputes with its competitors
  • A marketplace for authentic sneakers and apparel in a trademark infringement and breach of contract suit for their alleged expansion of into apparel and accessories
  • Team Rubicon, Inc., a non-profit veterans organization, in a trademark infringement and licensing dispute with its former sub-licensee; a preliminary injunction was granted in favor of Team Rubicon, Inc. and upheld by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals
  • Counter Brands in a trademark opposition proceeding against a party threatening to usurp their house mark for use in competing cosmetic goods; Counter Brands prevailed on summary judgment before the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board
