Cameron B. Lyons leads clients in financing transactions across credit markets in the energy and infrastructure space.

Mr. Lyons provides solutions-oriented advice in fast-paced transactions to commercial bank lenders, private equity firms, strategic sponsors, and developers on project financings, acquisition financings, and other energy and infrastructure-related transactions relating to:

  • Renewable energy, including onshore and offshore wind, distributed generation and utility-scale solar, and battery storage projects
  • Oil and gas, including midstream and LNG
  • Thermal power, including natural gas-fired power plants and geothermal plants
  • Other infrastructure, including transmission assets and data centers

Mr. Lyons maintains an active pro bono practice, including leading Latham’s Small Business Solutions initiative, which guides low-income entrepreneurs on the legal aspects of starting a business.

He previously served on the firm’s global Associates Committee.

  • Commercial bank lenders in the US$1 billion construction financing of Calpine Corporation’s 680 MW Nova BESS Project in Riverside County, California
  • Purchasers in multiple federal tax credit purchase and sale transactions, and lenders and sponsors in related financing transactions
  • BrightNight in a US$375 million corporate-level development credit facility
  • The note purchasers in multiple 4(a)(2) note issuances for a dynamic portfolio of AES Clean Energy renewable energy projects 
  • Commercial bank lenders in AES Clean Energy’s US$3.0 billion construction warehouse facility (Proximo’s 2022 Deal of the Year)
  • Terra-Gen in construction debt and tax equity financings of multiple battery storage and combined battery storage and solar projects, including the:
    • 400 MWh Beaumont battery storage project in Beaumont, California and 320 MWh Canyon Country battery storage project in Santa Clarita, California
    • Multi-phased Lockhart 160 MW solar project and 180 MWh battery storage project in San Bernardino County, California

  • Innergex Renewable Energy in the construction debt financing of the 300 MW Boswell Springs Wind Project in Albany County, Wyoming

  • Vivint Solar in several multi-party residential solar project portfolio financings, including cash and tax equity, and senior debt components
  • SunStrong  Capital Holdings in a US$216 million private placement back-leveraged debt financing of three separate portfolios of rooftop solar systems, each with separate tax-equity financings

  • Silicon Valley Bank in (i) a back-levered construction financing of a portfolio of Bloom Energy fuel-cell electricity generators and (ii) a senior-secured financing of a portfolio of operating Bloom Energy fuel-cell generators
